Sustainability is not just a buzzword at vhf, it is something we put into practice every day.

Our sustainability strategy is based on the three pillars of Environmental, Social and Governance. We are committed to combining ecological, social, and economic responsibility. Our goal is to use resources consciously, promote fair conditions, and develop innovative solutions to shape a sustainable future.

Environmental

  • The best comes directly from nature! For years, vhf has been using exclusively green electricity from hydropower from the region and self-generated solar energy in all company buildings at the Ammerbuch site.
  • Why go far away? At vhf, unnecessary travel is replaced by video conferencing – even individual demonstrations for our customers can be carried out online thanks to modern video equipment.
  • The energy consumption for electricity, gas, and heating oil, the refill quantities of liquid coolant, and the consumption of vhf vehicles are systematically recorded. This data is used to determine CO2 emissions according to Scope 1 (direct emissions) and Scope 2 (indirect emissions from purchased energy) on an annual basis and can be analyzed for potential savings.
  • Brevity is the soul of wit – this also applies to transport routes. In addition to the entire development and design process, the machines and many components are also produced in-house at the headquarters in Ammerbuch. Furthermore, both the complete control electronics and most of the milling tools come from the vhf Group – everything is made in Germany. The reduced transport distances thus lower the carbon footprint of our products.
  • So that we can keep improving: vhf has introduced a quality management system in accordance with ISO 9001. As part of this system, company processes are continuously analyzed and optimized – with a focus on climate change.

Social (Social responsibility)

  • Work safety and health protection are central components of our corporate policy. vhf relies on modern safety standards and regular training. Because only in a safe and healthy working environment we can deliver top performance every day.
  • vhf embodies a culture of equality, mutual trust, and respect. We promote equal opportunities, tolerance, and polite and honest interaction with one another in order to offer our employees a safe and productive working environment.
  • Think globally, act locally – what is often quoted is reality at vhf. As a global player in CNC milling machines, we are committed both locally and internationally. This includes sponsoring local sporting events and supporting charitable organizations at our locations – for example, Tübinger Tafel e. V. and Feeding America.

Governance (Corporate governance)

  • Teamwork is important to us: The integrity of each and every individual is the basis for a trusting and cooperative working environment.
  • vhf has introduced a compliance management system. As part of this, a code of conduct and other compliance guidelines have been established. These guidelines are designed to ensure that vhf complies with legal and ethical requirements in all areas of its business activities.
  • We are committed to fair competition in all business relationships. Bribery and corruption will not be tolerated.
  • Whistleblower system: In order to learn about potential violations of laws and internal guidelines and to be able to take appropriate measures, we provide our employees, as well as third parties such as our suppliers and service providers, with a whistleblower system through which violations can be reported confidentially or anonymously.

Sustainability in vhf products

However, sustainability is not only a top priority at vhf at the corporate level. It also applies to our products. By using vhf products, users also optimize their own sustainability balance.

Dental milling machines

  • The EASE CLASS from vhf represents a new generation of dental milling machines that uniquely combine technical innovation and low resource consumption. The E4 and E5 operate completely without resource-intensive compressed air and have been awarded not only the Green Dental Award but also the German Innovation Award in Gold.
  • Highest manufacturing quality made in Germany, paired with high-quality industrial components from renowned manufacturers, ensure a long service life for all milling machines and make the purchase of a machine a sustainable investment.

Portal milling machines

  • All machines are characterized by their low power consumption, which is made possible, among other things, by efficient vacuum suction units. In addition, only the vacuum areas that are actually needed are activated.
  • The use of high-speed spindles ensures that high feed rates are achieved despite relatively low power consumption.
  • The design of the milling machines, made from extruded aluminum profiles, ensures high rigidity and enables a low weight. As a result, the drives have less mass to move and power consumption can be kept particularly low.
  • Our efficient minimum quantity lubrication system ensures particularly economical coolant consumption when machining metals.
