The machining of HPL panels is a standard application of milling machines from vhf. Contour milling, drilling, chamfering and much more is no problem with the portal milling machines.

Facade construction uses a wide range of materials compared to numerous other industries, where one or several materials are generally used. Therefore, when responding to this question, we must first define what materials we wish to process.

For most aluminum alloys, we recommend cooling during machining. This extends the service life, i.e. the life of your tools, and also improves the edge quality of the workpieces. You can therefore benefit from a significantly reduced cleaning effort and improved milling results.
The unfinished edge is adequate for many applications in facade construction, and this additional work step is therefore not generally required. Users can select a finishing pass in individual cases for products with a strong focus on the visible edge to further optimize the edge quality. In most cases, you will achieve a particularly good result with a material removal of 0.1 – 0.2 mm.
The setting of feed rate, rotational speed and material removal depends on various factors. On the one hand, the milling machine and the milling spindle used provide specific framework data. On the other, factors including the material, material thickness and the tool diameter, etc. should also be taken into account. Users must also consider cooling, lubrication and extraction.
