La cause est en g\u00e9n\u00e9ral un exc\u00e8s de frottement sur le tranchant. Il faut donc une bonne \u00e9vacuation des copeaux et un tranchant qui s\u00e9pare franchement le mat\u00e9riau.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Plastiques plus durs comme le PP, le PVC rigide ou le PE-HD<br \/>\n<\/strong>Ces mat\u00e9riaux se coupent proprement en principe, mais exigent une conduite d&#8217;outil plus rigoureuse. Des param\u00e8tres mal r\u00e9gl\u00e9s produisent des ar\u00eates sales ou des bavures.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Plastiques sensibles \u00e0 la chaleur comme l&#8217;acrylique (PMMA) ou le polycarbonate (PC)<br \/>\n<\/strong>Le PMMA et le PC ne sont pas forc\u00e9ment plus durs que d&#8217;autres plastiques, mais leur fraisage impose des pr\u00e9cautions particuli\u00e8res. Le PMMA r\u00e9agit tr\u00e8s mal \u00e0 l&#8217;apport de chaleur : son point de fusion bas fait qu&#8217;un exc\u00e8s de temp\u00e9rature provoque rapidement fusion, collage ou fissures. Le PC est nettement plus tenace et r\u00e9sistant \u00e0 la chaleur, mais il a tendance \u00e0 se d\u00e9former sous l&#8217;outil au lieu de se sectionner proprement \u2014 d&#8217;o\u00f9 la n\u00e9cessit\u00e9 d&#8217;outils aff\u00fbt\u00e9s et de param\u00e8tres de coupe adapt\u00e9s.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Plastiques renforc\u00e9s de fibres ou thermodurcissables<br \/>\n<\/strong>Les mat\u00e9riaux comme le PRV ou le PRFC restent stables sous la chaleur, mais g\u00e9n\u00e8rent une poussi\u00e8re fine et usent davantage les outils. Id\u00e9ales sur les plastiques qui collent ou forment des copeaux longs.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Fraises deux dents : <\/strong>fonctionnement plus r\u00e9gulier, particuli\u00e8rement adapt\u00e9es \u00e0 la finition \u2014 par exemple apr\u00e8s une \u00e9bauche \u00e0 la fraise une dent, qui aura enlev\u00e9 beaucoup de mati\u00e8re. Elles donnent de bons r\u00e9sultats sur les plastiques plus durs et dans les rainures r\u00e9guli\u00e8res.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Fraises trois dents : <\/strong>moins courantes sur les plaques plastique classiques. Elles trouvent leur place sur les centres d&#8217;usinage \u00e0 couple \u00e9lev\u00e9 et vitesse de rotation basse, notamment sur les plastiques durs, o\u00f9 la r\u00e9gularit\u00e9 et un enl\u00e8vement homog\u00e8ne priment sur la place laiss\u00e9e au copeau.
